The Charnel House, a thriller based on the novel Abattoir by Christopher Leppek and Emanuel Isler, will premiere in Cleveland on Thursday, Nov. 3, followed by a limited release in additional U.S. cities beginning Friday, Nov. 4, including in Denver at the Harkins Theatres Northfield 18.
The film tells the story of a “talented architect, Alex Reaves, [who] achieves the impossible—transforming the long-abandoned Fairmont Meat Company slaughterhouse into the ultramodern high-tech Lofts.” Reaves’ dream, however, quickly turns to nightmare—as is often the case in Leppek-Isler creations! Soon Reaves’ “family and tenants are faced with a deadly secret that's patiently spent the past 30 years within the aged brick building.”
Christopher Leppek is the author of a Civil War romantic adventure titled Apollonia, recently published by Palaver. He will be reading from Apollonia and signing copies on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 7 p.m., at the Tattered Cover in Historic LoDo.
