‘Three Dashes Bitters’ to be featured at the Louisiana Book Festival

  • Louisiana Book Festival 701 N. 4th St. Baton Rouge, LA 70802 USA (map)

Three Dashes Bitters and author Jack Simmons will be featured at the 14th annual Louisiana Book Festival on Saturday, October 28.

Simmons, a philosophy professor now based in Savannah, Ga., attended Mandeville High School in Louisiana as well as Louisiana State University and Tulane University, where he completed his graduate degrees.

Simmons will read from, discuss, and sign copies of his book, a wild bro-mantic comedy (complete with cocktail recipes!) set in New Orleans.

Envisioned as the third book in an “accidental” trilogy initiated with Walker Percy’s The Moviegoer and John Kennedy Toole’s A Confederacy of DuncesThree Dashes Bitters offers a colorful cast of cheeky characters in search of friendship, love, and human happiness. Within their dizzying, twenty-four-hour escapades throughout NOLA, Simmons also explores the universal struggle for individual meaning.

Hard copies of Three Dashes Bitters will be available for purchase at the event. Both print and eBook versions also may be purchased via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other retailers.
